- The introduction to this show was best ever, I was listening to it on headphones in public and I was in fits of laughter at \"hawk back a rail or two\".
I did go thumbs down on the drinking once the possibility of it being fake was raised, but I totally bought it at the time. - Dell battery wholesale(Brand New and Genuine )

I did go thumbs down on the drinking once the possibility of it being fake was raised, but I totally bought it at the time. - I was also skeptical at first, but started to believe it. Oh well.
I plan to take you up on your suggestion and buy you a drink (Diet Coke) at Balticon. I will be drinking harder stuff (Regular Coke).
Another multiple name: a paddy is a rice field, so a rice paddy is a rice rice field.
Los Angeles is sometimes called the \'City of the Angels\', but the full name given to is was \'El Pueblo de La Reyna de Los Angeles\': Translation: \'Town of the Queen of the Angels\'. So technically they are the Town of the Queen of the Angels Angels of Anaheim.
More rantings:
Star Jones, what a rhymes-with-witch. I remember back for her corporate sponsored wedding she said on TV that she was waiting to decide on the music while she saw what gifts she was being offered in return. Hello? That\'s called Payola, and it is illegal. - All right, Geo, I'm putting in your Oscar nomination now. Take your bow; that was good. Despite my doubts, and despite KNOWING how much you like headgames, it sounded too real to be fake, dammit! Who gave you "dialect coaching" on how to react to a shot of bad tequila?
Still impressed you got my name right... - Well, shucks! I had my moment of skepticism last week, but then squelched it. I have to confess, I was much more enamored of the idea that Geo had dramatically thrown away his lifelong sobriety for the sake of a once-in-a-lifetime learning experience. I figured he'd get sick and have a rotten hangover but not die. There are way too many frat boys running around in the world for that little tequila-binge to be a death sentence.
(Note that the foregoing is a completely unscientific utterance, unencumbered by research, analysis, or credentials of any kind.)
Plus I guess I don't really have much empathy for the whole "refusing to take a drink on principle" thing. Sympathy, yes -- I think I can understand how this decision could be very important to someone as a symbol of resistance to social conformity and what-not. But not *empathy.* Refusing to have a drink on principle because it might impair one's rationality makes about as much sense to me as refusing to go down because it might get one's face wet & smelly. In both cases the consequences are temporary and one risks missing one of life's very interesting facets.
PS -- But, umm, if you're gonna choose to give up one or the other? Stay off the fuckin' sauce. I'm just sayin'.
PPS -- And I have to chime in with the others -- you've never struck me as being a dick, Geo, and I really admire the rapport you have with your family. But because you're smart and opinionated and right more often than not, it's only natural you're going to leave in your wake some people who cry "dick" to cover their own shortcomings. - Yea me and Yea you. I knew you weren\'t drinking. My husband doesn\'t drink. Never has. Never will. He enjoys laughing at everyone else too much. I thought you would be the same.
As for the last show, how could anyone think you are anything but totally cool with your family. Your mom is great and you obviously think so to.
Keep the great shows coming. - I checked last week\'s comments, and I didn\'t notice anyone else with their thumb down there... just me. My thoughts when listening to the show last week;
A) George getting drunk isn\'t likely
B) On tequila even less likely
C) His reaction to that first shot wasn\'t enough. He was clearly able to breathe still and there was no retching.
D) Have you never seen anyone get drunk while you remained sober? Ethanol virgin or otherwise...
E) The slurring, etc came on too quickly. At best, it seemed to be caused by the placebo effect :)
Oh, and according to all the drinking games I participated in or witnessed while in college, 8 shots in an hour, even to the new drinker isn\'t likely to kill you unless you\'re allergic... but you wouldn\'t be WELL.
- It did seem out of character, but George, you are one hell of an actor. I didn't believe it until about halfway thru the show, then I fell for it... hook, line and sinker!
Nice job. Very entertaining!
If you ever DO decide to imbibe, I'd recommend a nice red wine, not something too harsh. - Well, you convinced me - I totally fell for it! I'm a real inexperienced lightweight when it comes to drink, so I've no idea what 8 shots in an hour will do to someone. Geo, I feel suitably foolish, but also relieved that it was a fake.
Hmm, and to think that on a certain album I recently bought there was a song that said I should think for myself... - It\'s rare that I am glad I was wrong about something and was suckered in, but I am glad about last show. And I was skeptical about last show until that last part. That is what made me finally believe it was real. You did real good with that aspect of it.
As for the rest of the show. Well done and most enjoyable, as usual.
